Survey Project Manager (PLS)
GeoSearch is actively looking for a Survey Project Manager to join our client's team in Nashville, TN! In this role, you’ll work closely with our Survey Practice Lead and project teams to manage and deliver a wide range of surveying services. You’ll provide technical guidance, mentorship, and project oversight for field and office staff engaged in boundary, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, design, construction, and control surveys. You will lead quality control efforts, train personnel, and review the technical accuracy of survey deliverables, maps, and property descriptions. Additionally, you'll support the growth of our survey practice through business development initiatives and the implementation of marketing strategies.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of surveying projects including scope, schedule, and budget oversight
- Coordinate with field crews and office staff on execution of boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, control, and construction surveys
- Review and verify technical accuracy of survey deliverables including plats, legal descriptions, calculations, and staking reports
- Support training and mentorship of junior staff and ensure adherence to best practices and technical standards
- Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and (preferably) Trimble Business Center for processing and drafting
- Engage in client relationship management, proposal preparation, and business development efforts to expand the survey practice
- Collaborate across internal disciplines to support multidiscipline project delivery
Qualifications
- Registered Land Surveyor (RLS) in Tennessee (or ability to obtain)
- 5+ years of professional land surveying experience
- Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D; Trimble Business Center experience preferred
- Solid understanding of land surveying principles, legal aspects, and field-to-finish workflows
- Experience with project management including budgeting, scheduling, and invoicing
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to mentor staff, provide technical oversight, and work collaboratively within a team
- Demonstrated success with client development and practice growth initiatives
