SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Geospatial Analyst to join our team of experts in providing cutting-edge geospatial solutions. As a Senior Geospatial Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in processing, analyzing, and reporting geospatial data to deliver valuable insights to our clients. You will process remote sensing data collected by our field services team and our customers. You will automate processes. Build QA/QC metrics and scripts. And you will work closely with both our Development Team and our team of geospatial technicians to build and end to end solution for processing LiDAR, photogrammetry and other remote sensing data sets and assure they are embedded into our solution. You will be at the forefront of utilizing advanced technologies and tools in the field of geospatial analysis.

This position requires working closely with geospatial data delivery analysts, developers, and customers as we bring our ever-evolving technology to market. This position will require a hard-working individual who is nimble yet focused on delivering new technologies for us.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Build automated processes and analyses for LiDAR data, hyperspectral images, and other geospatial datasets to extract meaningful insights and patterns.
• Utilize Riegl's RiProcess, ENVI, Applanix PosPac, Novatel Inertial Explorer, LasTools, GeoServer, PostGIS, and OpenLayers for data processing, manipulation, visualization, and reporting.
• Develop and implement batch scripts for multi-application automation of geospatial data processing, streamlining workflows, and enhancing efficiency.
• Assist in building QA/QC scripts to assure quality data at each point in the workflow cycle
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project objectives, requirements, and deliverables, ensuring that geospatial analysis aligns with business goals.
• Perform advanced geospatial analyses, including spatial modelling, terrain analysis, and remote sensing, to support decision-making processes.
• Calculate and report on the uncertainty associated with various geospatial analyses, providing comprehensive documentation of methods and results.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in geospatial technologies and tools, recommending and incorporating new techniques into the analysis process.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior analysts, fostering professional growth and maintaining high-quality standards in analysis and reporting.
• Effectively communicate complex geospatial concepts and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders through clear presentations and reports.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their geospatial analysis needs, ensuring that deliverables meet or exceed expectations.
• Establish efficient and effective workflows for high quality deliverables that can be leveraged by other team members.
• Assist in establishing quality assurance procedures that help ensure the highest quality deliverables are produced.
• Maintain a strong awareness of open-source geospatial tools and platforms, exploring their applicability to project requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's or master’s degree in Geography, Geomatics, Remote Sensing, GIS, or a related field.
• 10 years of proven experience in geospatial analysis, with a focus on LiDAR and imagery processing, analysis, and reporting.
• Proficiency in using Riegl's RiProcess, ENVI
• Proficiency with open-source processing and analysis tools like LasTools, GeoServer, PostGIS, OpenLayers and more.
• Working knowledge of hyperspectral imagery processing and analysis
• Strong knowledge of batch script and model development for automating geospatial data processing across multiple applications.
• Practical knowledge of Python, Java, C++ or other object-oriented programming language.
• Experience in calculating and reporting the uncertainty associated with geospatial analyses, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of data reliability.
• Strong candidates will also have a strong understanding of aerial acquisition, GPS ground survey, and bathymetric calibration.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about complex geospatial challenges.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

• Experience using GIS software for modeling and analysis. 
• Experience with database mapping systems (GIS), ArcSDE, File Geodatabases, Shape Files, XML.
• Knowledge and/or experience with remote sensing & collection.
• Ability to independently make accurate and timely decisions.
• Proficiency in use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
