GeoSearch is actively seeking a Vice President to oversee business activities in the U.S. The successful candidate will report to and collaborate closely with the President of our client's firm. The primary objective of this position is maintenance of business with existing clients and development of business with new clients, including expansion of products/services, and integrated programs. This role will continue to grow our client's business, providing senior leadership to secure their long-term future. This role also oversees the operational activities and associated staff, working collaboratively with the broader corporate management team to ensure effective provision of our service capabilities to meet client needs.

 

This is a fully remote position in the Pacific Northwest. Candidate must be a U.S. citizen. 


Business Development:

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Identify and develop new growth opportunities into active business in consideration of corporate strategic interest and forecast changes in core business sectors
  • Organize and participate in client visits and industry events (e.g. conferences) as appropriate to achieve business development goals
  • Provide quarterly reporting with metrics/report on won/loss, new clients added, significant/high-profile wins
  • Work with senior corporate management to develop and execute client-specific strategies
  • In consultation with management and technical staff, develop and deliver proposals and presentations to meet client requirements
  • Lead communication and collaboration on client projects at a company-wide level
  • Provide client/market insight to assist with R&D innovation, enabling the development and introduction of new technology and services that keep our firm technically current and are aligned with strategic plan objectives for commercial success (i.e., market size and profitability)


Operations Management:

  • Oversee project management for sold programs including client communication to achieve positive outcomes on project commitments
  • Track and complete project progress invoicing 
  • Undertake activities as necessary to support financial reporting and cash flow management with finance department
  • Coordinate with supervisors and managers for allocation of resources to meet project schedules and maintain workload balance for staff
  • Collaborate with head office on data management and location
  • Work with the Strategic Corporate Development and President to continue to develop and enhance project management workflows including work order enhancement, load forecasting enhancement and support of “Right First Time” delivery goals


Corporate Oversight:

  • Schedule and perform activities necessary to maintain corporate registrations and reporting / licencing as required by state or other authorities
  • Assist with maintenance of banking relations, reporting and financial transactions
  • Work with head-office HR to ensure optimal performance and development of US staff
  • Provide support for payroll and other administrative tasks for US operations including but not limited to tax filing, visas cross-border movement of staff, import/export of equipment


Qualifications:

  • 10+ years' experience in a leadership role
  • Experience in business development in geomatics business sector
  • Experience working within the following sectors: utilities/energy, transportation, forestry, infrastructure, mining, environmental, marine
  • Technical understanding sufficient to communicate effectively with clients and staff on project requirements
  • Experience in working with technical staff in operations and mapping data production
