Description

The geospatial Team Leader will supervise a small team of utility focused employees who produce remote-sensing-derived products. Responsibilities include management of project resourcing and execution of production tasks. A team leader oversees staff hiring and evaluation as well as supporting employee professional development. Client-facing responsibilities include project planning, scope clarification, and workflow development. In addition to team and project responsibilities, the team leader is part of office leadership and participates in initiatives covering process improvement, staffing, and growth strategies.

Responsibilities

Production Supervision and Oversight

  • Production risk management
  • Workflow development, oversight, and knowledge
  • Drive for efficiency
  • Identification of project resourcing requirements
  • Integration of internal and external contractors

Personnel Management of Team Members

  • Team member hiring & evaluation
  • Team skill assessments and tracking
  • Employee professional development

Project Management

  • Assists with project scope development
  • Assess and set project delivery schedule
  • Project risk and issue management
  • Monitors project progress

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Proficiency in ArcGIS or equivalent
  • 3+ years experience in a professional and technical environment
  • Experience in the geospatial field
  • 1+ years experience leading teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in management, science, or engineering program
  • Master’s degree or higher
  • Client relations experience
  • 4+ years experience in both a professional and technical environment
  • 2+ years experience leading teams
  • Experience recruiting, hiring, and training management team members
  • Experience in change management
