Description

The Field Data Technician reports to the project manager and typically performs tasks of substantial scope to support projects while working with office and field staff to process incoming information and produce final project deliverables. This role works closely with the field coordinator.

Responsibilities

  • Daily processing of field acquired data, including evaluating accuracy and sufficiency, ensuring equipment and devices are in proper working condition, and ensuring data integrity
  • Provide technical office support (brief & de-brief) to field crews, supporting daily and weekly reports and others as assigned
  • Ensure quality of work, productivity objectives set by the supervisor for completion of requested work
  • Coordination with field coordinator, office, client, or client’s representatives to ensure job objectives are achieved
  • Ability to communicate effectively and in a professional manner with the client and with coworkers
  • Ability to use multiple devices such as laptops, tablets, and innovative software applications
  • Ability to travel 5 days per week and work 10 hours per day
  • Fieldwork to be performed in the states of VA and eastern NC

Qualifications

  • 1-year field experience in utility location or other surveying related activities
  • Excellent computer and technical skills
  • Proficient in technical math
  • Strong listening, writing, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a field crew
  • Proven work history, strong work ethic, and team-player attitude
