Description

The primary role of the Business Development Professional is to identify opportunities, build relationships and assist with securing profitable work for the organization. This role is also responsible for understanding the services offered and effectively communicating the value of these services to potential clients.

  • Generate new business leads through outbound contact with clients
  • Track client progress throughout designated client/opportunity database software
  • Update clients on new and revised services offered
  • Serve as a liaison with operational teams to ensure that client needs are understood and supported
  • Attend required networking and industry business development functions
  • Travel as needed for specific client requirements or meetings/conferences
  • Entertain clients and prospects as appropriate
  • Perform other tasks as assigned to help accomplish the company’s strategic goals
  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred, or equivalent education and experience
  • Experience with government sales
  • Experience in a similar industry and proven sales success
  • Experience with Salesforce is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Capable of working both individually and as a part of a very dynamic team of professionals
  • Above average attention to detail, and organizational, interpersonal, and team-oriented skills
  • Ability to perform several tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines
