FDOT Professional Surveyor & Mapper (PSM)
SurvTech Solutions is seeking a highly experienced FDOT-qualified Professional Surveyor & Mapper (PSM) to play a key role in expanding our Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) presence. This is a strategic, high-impact position ideal for someone who wants to help build, shape, and lead an FDOT portfolio within a rapidly growing, well-respected surveying and SUE organization.
The ideal candidate will bring strong FDOT project experience, technical expertise, and a desire to help SurvTech establish a robust FDOT surveying practice. You will collaborate closely with our leadership team to develop workflows, pursue opportunities, ensure quality deliverables, and help position SurvTech as a trusted FDOT partner throughout Florida.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage FDOT surveying projects from proposal through delivery.
- Oversee QA/QC for FDOT standards, procedures, and deliverables.
- Partner with internal leadership to build and grow SurvTech’s FDOT portfolio.
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and direction to field and office staff.
- Assist in developing FDOT-compliant workflows, standards, and best practices.
- Support business development efforts, including proposal preparation and client engagement.
- Serve as the signing PSM on FDOT projects as required.
Qualifications Required:
- Active Florida PSM (Professional Surveyor and Mapper) license
- Minimum 5 years of experience in transportation-related surveying projects
- Strong knowledge of FDOT standards, CADD workflows, and Surveying & Mapping Handbook
- Proficiency with MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, Trimble Business Center, and/or Civil 3D
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Qualifications Preferred:
- Experience leading SUE, hydrographic, and LiDAR-based survey projects
- Prior project experience supporting FDOT District 5 and District 7
- Prior project management or client-facing experience with FDOT Districts
- Familiarity with digital deliverables including 3D BIM/DTM models
- Experience working in a multi-disciplinary engineering/survey firm
