About the Role

As the Director of Surveying, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing survey operations, mentoring teams, ensuring compliance, and utilizing cutting-edge technology to streamline projects. You’ll be instrumental in maintaining high-quality survey deliverables while fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage survey teams, ensuring excellence in execution and project delivery.
  • Oversee TxDOT-certified survey operations, including:
  • 15.1.1 ROW Survey
  • 15.2.1 Design Survey
  • 15.2.2 Construction Survey
  • 15.3.5 Horizontal & Vertical Control
  • Ensure compliance with TxDOT, municipal, and county regulations.
  • Utilize modern survey technologies, including drones, terrestrial LiDAR, and mobile LiDAR, to enhance efficiency.
  • Mentor survey technicians and field crews, boosting morale and professional development.
  • Maintain existing certifications while pursuing 15.3.3 Terrestrial LiDAR, 15.3.4 Mobile LiDAR, and 15.5.1 State Land Surveying certifications as a plus.
  • Support business development efforts by attending networking events and engaging with industry leaders.
  • Manage a hybrid work schedule while maintaining operational efficiency for field teams.


Qualifications

  • Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) in Texas – required.
  • TxDOT Precertifications as listed above – required.
  • Experience performing surveys for municipalities, counties, and TxDOT projects – required.
  • Multi-state licensure or ability to obtain licensure in additional states – a strong plus.
  • Ability to utilize drone surveys and other modern technologies to optimize survey processes.
  • Proven leadership experience with a passion for mentorship and morale-building.


Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $150K–$180K per year.
  • Bonus Plan: To be negotiated based on performance metrics.
  • Hybrid Work Schedule: In-office Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday; remote work Wednesdays and Fridays (optional).
