GeoSearch is actively looking for a Director of Utility Business Development. Our client is the leading provider of geospatial services using imaging, aerial LiDAR, surveillance, methane leak detection, and AI technology to map assets and critical infrastructure across North America.


This is a fully remote position based in the U.S. Estimated travel is 50% and will vary monthly.


Overall Objectives:

  •  Develop business relationships with key utility executives, influential resources and industry partners
  • Provide solutions based on feedback from client and industry partners
  • Responsible for revenue generation within the utility business unit
  • Support the definition of product value propositions and ROI models, considering economic, technical and user buyers
  • Contribute to the prioritization of product and services development, considering revenue, customer satisfaction and long-term strategy. 


Specific Tasks:

  • Responsible for all sales activities within the business unit.
  • Contribute to and support the overall strategy for the business unit.
  • Provide upper management with creative solutions for service growth ideas/opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain written account plans for selected accounts as directed by your manager and executive management.
  • Maintain customer contact methods as directed for: leads, contact, and opportunities using company provided resources.
  • Create and maintain opportunity pipeline forecasting within the business unit.
  • Regularly travel overnight to perform client calls on assigned accounts and actively seek to develop new clients within the assigned geographic territory.
  • Plan, organize, schedule and manage personal travel schedule.
  • Routinely meet with high-level utility client executives to reinforce the company’s products and services and to establish long-term client relationships, during and beyond normal business hours.
  • Plan and attend various statewide and national conferences and develop and deliver presentations.
  • Other duties as directed.


Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in business development, specifically with geospatial solutions sales
  • 10+ years of experience within the utilities market
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
  • Knowledge of geospatial technology is a plus
