Our client is seeking a Geospatial Web Application Developer to work directly with its federal government office. The successful candidate shall have experience compiling and collecting data from a variety of enterprise and non-enterprise sources and possess the organizational skills to create responsive deliverables with a minimum amount of supervision. The successful candidate will apply their experience in producing quality user-focused applications, and customization scripting that imparts enterprise-level geospatial oversight to minimal management staff. This is a remote opportunity and has a unique contract length of 6-9 months. Full benefits package will be included.


  • Develop, and publish Feature, Image, Geoprocessing, and Map Services in ArcGIS Server
  • Create a Geospatial Web Mapper Apps and Widgets
  • Experience with HyperText Markup Language (HTML)
  • Experience with Active Server Pages (ASP)
  • Experience with Extensible Markup Language (XML)
  • Develop tutorials for the user community
  • Have knowledge and experience with Paradigm Programming Language (Python), Java, and JavaScript
  • Integrating Application Program Interface (API) applications
  • Have the knowledge and experience with ArcGIS Online and the federal government to deliver Web Apps internally and externally
  • Participate in the monthly/weekly client conference calls
  • Prepare weekly status reports


  • Planning, designing, implementing, and maintaining custom or configurable applications to meet GIS or data needs
  • The capability to develop geospatial tools using standard industry programming/scripting languages
  • The capability to develop tools using modern programming approaches, implementing techniques such as object-oriented programming, model-view-controller design patterns, and service-oriented architecture
  • The knowledge to recommend new technologies and techniques for application development
  • Understanding customer requirements and developing GIS applications to meet business needs
  • Maintaining and supporting applications according to changing business requirements
  • Ensuring that application architecture meets business requirements
  • Developing system problem reports and recommendations
  • Testing applications and performing bug fixes
  • Automate Spatial Tools using Python, Javascript, or other GIS industry-standard SDKs
  • Provide simple and intuitive tools, applications, and solutions to meet the needs of the federal client programs and end-users
