Land Survey Technician
We are seeking an experienced survey technician with a strong knowledge of the survey and engineering industry to join our client's team on a full time / direct hire basis. A qualified candidate must be able to work as part of a team, be dependable, have a strong work ethic and a positive attitude. In this role, you will produce quality survey drawings, legal descriptions, easement exhibits, and process data collected by our in-house survey team. Ideal Candidates would be willing and able to complete field surveys including boundary and topo surveys. Candidates should be able to apply sound survey principles in planning, evaluation and completing survey projects as well as collecting field measurements and assisting with the preparation of survey documents. The ability to manage multiple projects on tight deadlines is required. The candidate will support our registered land surveyors and civil engineers on a variety of infrastructure projects. Primary Responsibilities
- Communicate with the land surveyor and/or survey crew chief before, during and after completion of field work.
- Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation to prepare boundary, ALTA, topographic and other surveys.
- Prepare as-built surveys.
- Prepare easement descriptions and exhibits.
- Work with land surveying crew to accurately draft survey data and project managers to meet required deadlines.
- Periodically conducting survey field work to help support crew workload.
- Scheduling, documenting, and/or coordinating utility locates.
- Collaborate with stakeholders reporting on field survey schedule progress and outcomes of work.
Requirements
- 2+ years’ experience in survey drafting utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation.
- Work effectively and professionally with internal team members and external client personnel. Organized and punctual.
- Ability to communicate effectively with multiple teams.
- Ability to prioritize project deadlines.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
- Detail-oriented and self-motivated.
- Ability to work with little or no supervision.
- Experience in engineering environment or engineering and/or technical coursework preferred.
- Accurately represent survey data.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software.
- Land survey experience required.
Education Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of experience.
- Training or coursework in a technical drafting or related field preferred.
