GIS Sales Consultant
GeoSearch is actively looking for a GIS Sales Consultant. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in GIS and consulting to drive sales and deliver tailored solutions to our client's clients. You will engage with customers to understand their needs, provide valuable insights, and recommend GIS solutions that enhance their business processes. This position is not taking over the management of existing clients. The primary function of this role is to penetrate new geographies and generate new clients using a “hunter” mentality. This individual will be expected to own the entire sales cycle from generating leads to closing deals to maintaining strong relationships with those clients.
This is a fully remote position with travel up to 50% within the state of Texas. We are looking for candidates who have a proven history of selling into municipalities and utilities.
Responsibilities:
- Sales Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the GIS market. Build and maintain relationships with potential and existing clients.
- Consulting Expertise: Utilize your consulting background to assess client requirements and develop tailored GIS solutions. Provide expert advice on best practices and innovative GIS applications.
- Product Knowledge: Maintain a thorough understanding of our GIS products and services, ensuring you can effectively communicate their benefits and features to clients.
- Proposal Development: Prepare and present compelling proposals and presentations that align with client needs. Collaborate with internal teams to create customized solutions.
- Market Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, competitors, and emerging technologies in the GIS sector to identify opportunities for growth.
- Customer Support: Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, addressing any concerns or questions regarding GIS solutions and services.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in sales or business development within the GIS industry
- Proven track record of business development and consulting success with a robust network of industry connections.
- Established history leading business development activities with a strong focus on achieving annual revenue and growth targets, demonstrating a proactive "hunter" mentality.
- Prior experience in a consulting role, demonstrating strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong understanding of Esri software and technologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% to meet clients.
