Geospatial Principal Investigator
GeoSearch is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our client's geospatial solutions team as a Geospatial Principal Investigator in support of expanding their business footprint in Salt Lake City, Utah. Remote work in Salt Lake City, UT is preferred but not required.
Our team is looking for someone that can provide expert level strategic and technical support of a highly specialized nature. The Principal Investigator solves complex technical problems and is responsible for providing technical direction to federal program management staff and program stakeholders to define project scope, identify resource requirements, identify strategic risks, and assess project feasibility relative to the mission of GTAC, the Geospatial Management Office, and the Forest Service.

Requirements:
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve at a strategic level, defining set plans to achieve business goals
- Demonstrated experience providing expert level assistance in developing complex technical proposals and managing geospatial project activities, development of Performance Work Statements in response to a Statement of Objective
- Applies expertise and knowledge in supervision of project staff for work required by the project including remote sensing data collection, field data collection, image processing and preparation of final deliverables
- Demonstrated expertise in preparing publications, technical reports, guidelines, strategic-level documents, assessment and recommendations documents, etc.
- Presents research and work results at meetings, conferences, and in peer-reviewed 19 publications
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to problem solve at a strategic level, defining set plans to achieve business goals
- Ability to supervise project staff for work required by the project including remote sensing data collection, field data collection, image processing and preparation of final deliverables
- Ability to present research and work results at meetings, conferences, and in peer-reviewed sessions
- Deep understanding of ArcGIS Desktop tools, ArcGIS Enterprise, and ERDAS Imagine
- Ability to apply photogrammetric applications, analysis, and geospatial technologies to address natural resource applications
- Knowledge and understanding of processing, analysis, and modeling in FS enterprise geospatial software applications including Esri ArcGIS and ERDAS Imagine
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
Education:
Bachelor’s degree related to geography, GIS, remote sensing, or physical / biological / environmental discipline, including emphasis or coursework in geospatial analysis and modeling, and twelve (12) years of relevant work experience.

Master’s degree related to geography, GIS, remote sensing, or physical / biological / environmental discipline, including emphasis or coursework in geospatial analysis and modeling, and ten (10) years of relevant work experience.

PhD degree related to geography, GIS, remote sensing, or physical / biological / environmental discipline, including emphasis or coursework in geospatial analysis and modeling, and eight (8) years of relevant work experience.
