We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Federal Business Development Director to lead and expand our client's presence in the IT and Geospatial markets. As the Federal Sales Director, you will play a crucial role in developing and executing strategic plans to drive substantial growth and establish market leadership. Collaborating with various leaders within the organization, you will ensure the successful implementation of business strategies to secure new opportunities and foster growth.


Responsibilities:


• Develop and cultivate a robust pipeline of prospective opportunities to facilitate the ongoing expansion of our Federal business. Focus on expanding the client base within IT and Geospatial markets.

• Collaborate with senior management, program managers, and technical staff to devise effective market strategies, establish strategic partnerships, and conduct competitive analysis.

• Set and achieve annual revenue generation, pipeline, and award targets.

• Foster connections and network within the IT and Geospatial industries to identify potential opportunities for growth.

• Oversee and execute business development tasks, from lead generation to successful capture.

• Gather market intelligence and competitive data related to targeted pursuits, and utilize this information to develop marketing strategies that maximize their value.

• Cultivate and maintain strong customer relationships, evaluating competitor capabilities concerning our business portfolio, including federal and non-federal customers.

• Support marketing efforts by collaborating on presentations, white papers, and working with program and technical leads to effectively showcase our technical capabilities.

• Lead and actively participate in tradeshows, industry events, and customer interactions to enhance our market presence.


Requirements:


• Bachelor's degree in a related field (business/marketing, geography, or information technology).

• A minimum of 5-7 years of hands-on experience in leading business development, with a particular focus on strategic and complex opportunities.

• Strong network and knowledge of competitors within the IT and/or Geospatial industry.

• Willingness to travel up to 50% annually.

• Demonstrated success in executing significant business development activities, including team building, shaping acquisitions through customer interactions, and efficient pipeline management for both new and existing customers.

• Proven experience leading opportunity captures of $5 million or more, encompassing win strategy development, team strategy formulation, pricing understanding, and proposal creation.

• Ability to identify key growth areas and develop new business aligned with the company's growth strategy.

• Familiarity with Federal Government contracting, current acquisition trends, and customer buying behaviors.

• Possess a high sense of urgency and maintain a positive outlook.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with experience in writing proposals and delivering persuasive presentations.

• Capable of mentoring capture teams in the development of winning strategies.

• Able to thrive under pressure, multitask effectively, and deliver on multiple priorities.
