We are seeking an Instrument Operator for Land Development Projects to join our team. As an Instrument Operator, you will be responsible for conducting field surveys and collecting data to support land development projects.

Responsibilities:

• Operate survey instruments such as total stations, levels, GPS, and data collectors to collect accurate survey data
• Set up and maintain survey equipment, ensuring that it is in good working condition
• Work with the survey crew to collect and record survey data in a timely and accurate manner
• Assist the crew chief in survey calculations and preparation of field notes
• Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with company and project standards and specifications
• Maintain clear and concise field notes and documentation of work performed
• Adhere to safety protocols and procedures while performing fieldwork
• Communicate effectively with team members, contractors, and clients as needed

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in surveying or related field preferred
• 2+ years of experience operating survey instruments in land development projects
• Knowledge of surveying principles and techniques
• Familiarity with survey software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or Trimble Business Center
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Must possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation to and from job sites

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and on rough terrain
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds of equipment
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and climb as necessary to perform job duties
